Hello!
I'm a freshman physics major at university, and I recently joined an engineers without borders group. We will be working on water quality treatment, spring water maintenance, and water filter projects. What should I begin to study in order to acquire some familiarity and practical knowledge for these projects? (I will be working with other undergraduate (upperclassmen) civil engineer majors, so I need some catching up)

Hi,
There isn't a minimum or maximum number of hours you should study. It depends on how fast you learn things and the amount of homework you need to do. But it is safe to say that you should allot at least 2 hours a day to do your homework & study for your exams the next day.

Hi

If you are looking for some online materials regarding water and waste-water technology then this http://www.ise.virginia.edu/syllabi/s10/SPRAU_CE_3100.pdf might be useful to you.

For spring water maintenance, it can be beneficial http://www.bae.ncsu.edu/programs/extension/publicat/wqwm/ag473-15.html

Thanks

Hi

A wide variety of inexpensive water improvement technologies are now at our disposal.Scientists have improved age old tools like ceramic filters and have added to the arsenal brand new options which render water visibly clear in addition to disinfecting it.I suggest you to study the all the available water treatment technologies available online.
