I would suggest an expungement. You can visit the Clerk of Court for the county where your offense took place and ask about having the charge expunged from your record. There will be a fee involved in doing this, in my state it averages around $150.

Normally it's very little if its a reputable source. Without a texting plan you'll be charged for the message but that's about it. Now the commercials on tv offering free ringtones is a total scam but I've never had problems with tv shows. If you get roped into a text "weekly updates" thing just text stop to the number they give you.
