In all design works, it is important to take critical decisions at conceptual stage in order to minimize the problems which shall be arisen at further stages. In all decision-making studies technical information, experience, feasibility, economy and physical conditions of the construction site are brought together having the purpose of achieving optimum solutions. The attached study, prepared by the firm “Structoris” is about selection of building materials, examining the wall-base details & integration of the building with the ground. You can also reach the document from the link below:

for a calgary-based art design competition i need canadian prices of building materials. im from switzerland, so i dont really know where to start. ive tried finding canadian construction suppliers on the internet, but couldnt find anything like a price list so far. what i need is prices of fibre cement sheeting or anything similar also steel tiles, i dont know the english name for this in canada, which is the material im probably going to use. can anyone tell me the name of a canadian construction supply company that has online price lists or can be contacted via internet, or your local do-it-yourself store, something like that...? id appreciate every help. thanks very much, sybil

I have a project where the homeowner would like to put concrete pavers on an existing concrete slab. The height or grade of the new patio will change to about 6" above the current concrete slab. I am adding a step.
My question is what is the best material to use between the slab and the pavers. The pavers will be about 2.5 inches which leaves 3.5 inches for a base material. I cannot remove this slab so that is not an option.

If anyone has any experience with type of application any opinions would be appreciated.

I think the selection of the appropriate equipment and machines is equally important. However the selection of proper building materials should be the top priority for any project.

having due regard to the standard of the site labor force, the type of construction equipment employed, the availability of materials, the specific location of the bridge and the economic situation prevailing at the time.

yes, you are correct, in a building construction project or a construction necessary things that you mentioned, every step must be done right and can be synchronized.

a construction project if the work is not done procedurally and conceptually, including in terms of synchronization. then the result will not satisfy all interested parties

There is no doubt that the selection of building materials,it's availability, the type and standards of the locally available craftsmen and equipment along with the economic situation are required to be catered before construction. It would be best to say that all these factors be amalgamated into detailed initial planning, carried out by some professional to save time in construction phase, to make it more economical.
