Hello everyone:

I am a retired Chemical Engineer now living with my wife in Newport Beach, California, USA.

I am trying to share my experience with other engineers and I have made a number of postings on this website on engineering subjects related to air and water pollution.

i am trying to advise a contractor not to de-water ground as the site is in a built up area. what other options do i have other than de-watering as the neighbouring buildings will settle. the radius of influence is 693m.

I assume that it is a big project with a basement. I would recommend use sheet piles or concrete wall before de-watering.

You may want to describe the project more clearly for better advices
