which one to use LRFD or ASD?

i was doing a numerical on block shear failure. a 350 kN load is applied on the section. when solving for both LRFD and ASD, the values came out to be like this

484 kN for LRFd and 323 kN for ASD.

so which value to consider since one is higher and the other lower than 350 kN?

so will the section fail in block shear and why?

can someone please help on this?

like the guy above me said, you can sit on a network and capture all the data. Using SSL is a great idea except the person can capture the encrypted data and decrypt it.
